ABOUT THE MOUNT HOPE MINISTRIES:
Our people love the Lord and they strive to serve Him by serving His people. We try to do everything with excellence at the "Hope" because the Scriptures teach us to do everything "as unto the Lord." However, we also realize that we are only human beings, therefore, we believe and trust that the Holy Spirit adds the "extra" that is needed to ensure the success in each area described below. In no specific order, the following are some of the ministries you will find at the "Hope."
NURSERY & PRE-K:
Mount Hope Church has an awesome nursery and preschool that is open during service times. Our loving caregivers don’t just baby-sit; they teach the little ones about Jesus. There is a craft time for older children and there is usually a little snack (with parent’s permission). The room has been decorated in lively colors and is spacious and open. It provides a fun atmosphere for the little people to get the wiggles out. The children also have a time to sing-along with some Bible songs and they get to see a Bible story re-enacted each week. We build a strong biblical foundation in our nursery and pre-school.
CHILDREN:
On Sunday morning we have a wonderful kid’s atmosphere located in our spacious lower level. The children are greeted by an awesome setting that is both colorful and inviting. Unlike the adult service, the kids are invited to play some games to get the wiggles out, then they usually sing some songs written for and often sung by other children. Finally, the teacher will deliver a message that is specifically designed to minister to elementary age children. The kids love children’s church. There are other extra-curricular activities that are provided for our children on a regular basis like movie and popcorn night, Day Camps many other events. These are just some of the activities that your family will be invited to take part in at Mount Hope Church.
YOUTH:
During the summer months, both the Jr. High and Highschool ministries close!
However, there are short-term mission trips, movie nights, a white water rafting trip in July and many other "special" events for the youth of our church.
WORSHIP:
Our worship team consists of many talented people who use their abilities to bring glory and honor to God. We have live instruments including drums, guitars, bass, keyboard, percussion and more. The worship team is just that, a team! Each member is needed and no one person stands out. The worship team is designed to lead the congregation in the singing of mostly contemporary songs that help build an atmosphere where the Holy Spirit can move. We welcome new instruments and voices to the Mount Hope worship team after the individuals prove to be faithful to the church for a short season.
MISSIONS
Mount Hope Church is a mission’s minded church. We support ten foreign missionaries and several ministries in the U.S. including Teen Challenge and the local pregnancy center. We also have short-term mission trips and many local projects that the church gets involved in. If you would like to use your talents to help get the message of Christ out into the World then roll up your sleeves and join us. We believe that Jesus was serious when He said to "Go and make disciples of all nations"…and that is a very big part of our church.
PRAYER:
We believe that nothing happens without prayer! We have a wonderful group of dedicated intercessors that love to pray for the needs of the church and community. If you are one of those who feels led to pray for the needs of others, perhaps you would like to join our team of Intercessors. Join us and we will help you get plugged into this powerful ministry!
KITCHEN:
The people of Mount Hope Church like to cook and like to eat. We feel we have some of the best cooks in the Gaylord area. Both men and women are invited to bless the people for the different events where food is offered. The church kitchen is spacious and the atmosphere is always a delight to work in. Our people love to have fun as they prepare and cook the meals. They also provide meals for those who have just come home from the hospital. If you are gifted in this area, your talents would be welcome. Or, perhaps you are not a cook but you could help set-up or help clean up – your talents are needed there, too. The kitchen team blesses many people through the different events provided by Mount Hope Church.
One regular event that is on the church calendar takes place on the 1st Sunday of every month. Our Fellowship Dinners are always a delight to attend. The meal follows the end of the service and everyone in the church is invited to attend. The people are asked to bring a dish to pass, but the visitors are told not to worry…there is always plenty to go around. During the summer months you will usually find the more athletic folks playing soft ball game or a game of horseshoes. Don't miss this great time of fellowship and some great food on the 1st Sunday of the month.

Mount Hope Church is a growing church and as such our ministries are growing. Perhaps you have something that the Lord has put upon your heart to begin and you feel that Mount Hope Church would be a good ministry to start it - speak to one of the pastors and share the vision God has given you.
