Adult Studies Some call it Bible study, others call it Sunday School, whatever you call it, the people that attend thoroughly enjoy the open atmosphere as everyone digs deeper into God's Word. If you feel like speaking you can, but if you feel like just listening, that's okay, too. Informal and fun, this is where the action is at on Wednesday night. On Sunday morning we have a wonderful kid’s atmosphere located in our Youth/Children's Center. The children are greeted by a kid-friendly setting that is both colorful and inviting. Unlike the adult service, the kids are invited to play some games to get the wiggles out, then they usually sing some songs written for and often sung by other children. Finally, the teacher will deliver a message that is specifically designed to minister to elementary age children. The kids love children’s church. There are also other extra-curricular activities that are provided for our children on a regular basis like movie and popcorn night, Day Camps, etc. These are just some of the activities that your family will be invited to take part in at Mount Hope Church. Couples Mount Hope Church offers our Common Ground small groups for couples looking for fellowship. Many other seasonal ministry opportunities are offered. Check out the church to learn more. Helps This is the core of the church. Ushers, greeters, people that make coffee and help clean the church. Folks that shovel the sidewalks in the winter and mow the grass in the summer. Whatever needs to be done in and around the church to ensure a pleasant atmosphere when people arrive, this is the ministry that carries out the "whatevers." Mens The Men of Mount Hope (MMH) men’s ministry exists to develop and maintain unity within the body by encouraging men to be all that God has called them to be, no matter the cost. A primary focus of our ministry is helping men develop authentic Jonathan/David relationships to counter a ‘Lone Ranger’ culture promoted by our society that has become a breeding ground of the enemy. As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another. Proverbs 27:17 The MMH are united in this effort with the Band of Brothers men’s ministry (www.BandofBrothers.org) and have formed a local Band of Brothers chapter, the Northern Michigan Ironmen. The MMH play an active role in supporting our pastors and the vision the church. The MMH gather regularly for a time of Bible study, prayer and fellowship; as well as hosting one or two fishing trips a year. In addition, the MMH sponsors a classic car, truck and motorcycle show in August with proceeds going to the local food pantry. Be on your guard: stand firm in the faith: be men of courage: be strong. Music Praise & Worship Worship is one of the core foundations of Mount Hope Church. We are called to be a community (a holy nation) of worshipers. Mount Hope's passionate worship team is devoted to helping you experience the presence of God. Our goal is to see every person, from all ages and every walk of life, encounter our extraordinary God through excellent worship. We accomplish this by worshiping God in Spirit and in Truth, not as tradition has taught us, but as God’s living Word has taught us. We believe that worship sets the stage for people to experience the presence and power of God. We also believe that worship is a lifestyle and a moment to moment activity, not just people getting together to sing songs. Our passion is to joyfully celebrate God with all our heart, soul and strength as we intimately express our worship to the Lord. We also have many people that provide the technical side for our sound and video – we recognize just how important this ministry is in order that everyone’s worship experience is the very best it can be. Prayer The people of Mount Hope Church believe in prayer, period! There is nothing that will move the Hand of God more than when His people come together and pray and fast for a person, family or any situation that requires the supernatural to intervene in the affairs of the those that live in the natural. We cannot do it on our own and we readily admit that. With that said, we have weekly prayer times that we get together to lift up the needs and requests of our church, our missionaries and those in our community and govt. Mount Hope Church has some great ladies that love getting together to fellowship together. We believe that we need each other and that . Youth Our youth leaders are on fire for Jesus and they feel the call to share what God has done for them. Our young people learn what it means to be a Christian in today's changing society. Wednesday night is the night for young people to enjoy one another's company. Games, snacks and a message that is age-appropriate is what they will experience at the Hope.
