Man Cave Gathering & Study of Oswald Chambers' "My Utmost for His Highest"

posted May 4, 2011 6:49 PM by Domain Admin
The Northern Michigan Ironmen Band of Brothers met Saturday, April 30 at the Man Cave in Frederic to study faith perspectives from Oswald Chamber's book, "My Utmost for His Highest".  Following are several questions-insights discussed in our group:
  • Have you been asking God what He is going to do? He will never tell you. God does not tell you what He is going to do; He reveals to you Who He is.
  • When Jesus asks us what we want Him to do for us in regard to the incredible thing with which we are faced, remember that He does not work in common-sense ways, but in supernatural ways. If it is an impossibility, it is the thing we have to ask
  • Faith never knows where it is being led, but it loves and knows the One Who is leading. The life of faith is not a life of mounting up with wings, but a life of walking and not fainting.
  • Faith is not a pathetic sentiment, but robust vigorous confidence built on the fact that God is holy love. Faith is the heroic effort of your life, you fling yourself in reckless confidence on God.
Oh yeah, as the following photos indicate, there was plenty of good food and fellowship during our gathering.
